Man Charged With Early Morning Preston Stabbing

A man has been charged with the stabbing of a man in Preston. The incident happened on Friday morning just after 9.30am in the West Cliff area close to Miller Park, a man was taken to hospital in a serious but non life threatening condition after being stabbed in the chest.

In statement released on social media, Preston Police said,

“We have Charged a man after a stabbing in Preston.

Last Friday morning (17th May) our officers were called to West Cliff, Preston, to a report of an assault.

A man in his 40s was found to have suffered injuries to his chest and arm.

We arrested a 31-year-old man at the scene.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Jack Sanderson, 31, of Charlesway Court, Lea Road, Preston, has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of a Class A controlled drug – cocaine.

He has been remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates Court tomorrow (20th May).
