The driver of a BMW was observed travelling in excess of the speed limit on the M65 near Nelson, in the early hours of this morning, he was also arrested after providing a positive roadside drugs test.

Posting a witty update on social media, Lancs Police Specialist Ops said that the driver had earned himself a stay at their all-inclusive facility on the outskirts of Blackburn.

Here is what they had to say,

“This BMW was seen being driven in excess of the speed limit on the M65 near Nelson in the early hours of this morning, resulting in it being stopped by #T2RPU.

The driver failed a roadside drugs test, earning himself a stay in our all-inclusive facility on the outskirts of Blackburn. He was also unable to provide any evidence that he was insured to drive the vehicle, so he was also reported for driving without insurance.

The car was seized under section 165A of the Road Traffic Act 1988, and the trade plate perched in the windscreen is now winging its way back to the DVLA for suspected misuse.
