A sex offender who had been on the run for a couple of months has  finally been apprehended by police.

Lancashire Police made multiple appeals to the public for help to locate Ashley Barratt who went on the run in Blackburn for failing to comply his  with his notification requirements as part of his conditions of being on the sex offenders register, he had links to Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham.

Lancashire Police said, “Over the last few months we have been working really hard to find 35-year-old Ashley Barratt who was wanted for failing to comply with his notification requirements and on recall to prison.

Just to let you know, Barratt, of no fixed address, was arrested by officers from our East MOSOVO Team in Leeds city centre this morning.

He has since been charged with three offences of Failing to Comply with Sex Offender Notification Requirements and recalled to prison.

We just wanted to thank everyone who has shared and supported our appeal.
