Police have arrested and charged two men after discovering thousands of pounds worth of drugs and money during Taskforce Crackdown in the city.
Lancashire Police said, “Last weekend PrestonTaskForce have been targeting more organised crime; specifically, drug dealing in the Streets around Skeffington Road, Ribbleton Lane and Fletcher Road.
This work comes following concerns that were raised by the community about the number of drug users gathering and using drugs on residential streets and near local businesses.
On Saturday 27th April, as a result of intelligence from the community, Preston Task Force arrested two males at an address in the area. Following a house search, a large quantity of Crack Cocaine and Heroin worth thousands of pounds was seized, along with drug paraphernalia and cash”
Two men have now been charged for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. They have since been remanded by Preston Magistrates Court.
“Preston Task Force will continue to robustly target both individuals and gangs involved in crime, bringing more offenders to justice as well as stripping them of their cash, cars, and other assets.
We need help from our communities to tackle these issues, so anyone with any information on organised crime can contact us, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously and information leading to an arrest could lead to a reward of up to £1,000.
