Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left in hospital with serious injuries sustained after being stabbed in Preston.
The incident happened at just before 6am yesterday morning Wednesday 1st May where police were called to reports of men fighting in the Ashford Street area close to a Ashton primary school and Lea Methodist Church on Birkdale Drive, Ashton-on-Ribble.
Two men were arrested a short time later and are being held in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Lancashire Police said, We are continuing to appeal for information after a man was attacked in Preston.
We were called at shortly after 6am yesterday (Wednesday, May 1) to a report of men fighting in the Ashford Road area.
Officers attended and a man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. He remains in hospital being treated for his injuries which are serious but thankfully not life threatening.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody.
Det Insp George Binns, of Preston CID, said “This was an extremely serious incident which has left a man with some significant injuries. While we have made two arrests, I am still keen for anyone who either saw what happened or who has any information to come forward and speak to us. If you haven’t yet come forward then please do contact us.
