Long delays are expected on the M6 Southbound due to a lorry that has lost its fuel tank at Sandbach/Congleton junctions.
From the images you can see the congestion in the area and works being carried out to clean up the carriageways so that the motorway can be fully reopened.
NW Motorway Police said, “With reference to M6 Southbound, Junction 17 to 16, we can confirm National Highways have implemented a lane 2, 3 and 4 closure, with just lane 1 running past the scene. Traffic is congested in the area on the lead up to the closure.
