Witness Appeal After Motorcyclist Killed In Wigan Crash

Police in Wigan are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike crash that killed a 27-year-old man.

GMP Wigan West said, “#APPEAL | Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a collision that occurred on Orrell Road in Orrell, Wigan on Thursday 25 April 2024 at around 4.25am.

Initial enquiries suggest a motorcyclist traveling east on Orrell Road toward Wigan Town Centre crossed over to the offside carriageway, and mounted a footpath before colliding with a lamp post.

The 27-year-old rider was unseated from the motorbike and then landed in a nearby carpark, where police and paramedics attended.

He was transported to hospital in critical condition and despite the best efforts of emergency services, he sadly died a short time after arriving.
