The Section 60 order is in place for 24 hours, from 3:30pm on April 3 until 3:30pm on April 4.

The Section 34 dispersal order is in place from 3:30pm today (April 3) until midnight.

Sometimes ordinary stop and search powers aren’t enough and enhanced Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people and vehicles without suspicion. They are there to prevent crime and disorder and also to keep you safe and feeling safe.

You should be re-assured to see a really visible policing presence in the area. However, if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our officers.

The powers are usually in place for up to 12 hours and we are obliged to tell people about them – hence this post. We will post again on this page to let you know the results of the powers being in place and whether there is going to be any extension of them.

The Section 34 dispersal order, under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 allows a police officer to direct any person who is in the designated area to leave the area and not to return within a specified time period.
