Man Charged Over Colne Murder Investigation

A man has today been charged with the Murder Of Richard Chamberlain.

Lancashire Police said, “We have charged a man with murder following a fatal stabbing in Colne.

Our officers were called to New Market Street, Colne, at 2.26pm on Sunday where paramedics were treating a man with a number of serious injuries.

The man – 34-year-old Richard Chamberlain from Colne – sadly died a short time later.

Richard’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers and our thoughts are with them at this distressing time.

A 44-year-old man from Colne was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of Richard’s murder.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, we have this evening charged Frank Wrona, 44, of New Market Street, Colne, with murder.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court in the morning.
