
Police in Fleetwood are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted yesterday, Saturday 30th March in the town.
Two women who may of witnessed the assault are urged to come forward.
Lancashire Police said, “We are appealing for witnesses and footage following a serious assault in Fleetwood.
We were called at around 10:20am yesterday to the junction of Preston Street and Lord Street following reports a man had been assaulted with a screwdriver.
Following enquires, a 40-yearold man from Fleetwood was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Assault and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in custody at this time.
Our enquiries are very much ongoing and we want to speak to two women who may have witnessed the assault. One was wearing a white coat with a hood and the other was wearing a black coat with a brown fur trim hood. We appreciate these descriptions are vague but we are confident the women will know who they are from the information provided”.
Police also continue to ask for anyone with information or dashcam or mobile phone footage to get in touch with us.
