Shocking Footage Of Blackburn Hit and Run emerges

Footage of a car that failed to stop after colliding with a  Blackburn pedestrian has emerged online.

In the shocking footage you can see the grey BMW 318d pulling out of a side street and immediately striking the man who is in his nineties whilst crossing the road with his shopping bags, the man was flung into the air before members of the public ran out of nearby shops to help the man who was lay injured in the road. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and simply just drove off.

The collision happened in the Audley Range area at the junction with Lambeth Street on Good Friday.

Lancashire Police said, “We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a fail-to-stop collision in Blackburn.

Our officers were called to Audley Range at 1.50pm today following reports a man in his 90s had been struck by a grey BMW 318d (pictured) at the junction of Lambeth Street.



The male pedestrian suffered a serious leg injury and has been taken to hospital where he remains.

The driver of the BMW failed to stop at the scene and remains outstanding.

We are appealing for anyone with information on the whereabouts of the driver to come forward. We also want to hear from any witnesses or anybody with dashcam, CCTV, mobile phone or doorbell footage which has captured the BMW before or after the collision.

We want to appeal directly to the driver of the BMW to do the right thing and make contact with the police straight away.
