Lancashire Police have been working hard to protect the county’s children from perpetrators who commit sexual abuse against children.
Their work includes targeting offenders and safe guarding children, working alongside the Lucy Faithfull Foundation which is a charity dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse.
Lancashire Police said,
“Every week in Lancashire, our teams work to target perpetrators of sexual abuse towards children and bring them to justice.
We’re immensely proud of the work they do and we want to showcase just how important their work is.
This year our teams have safeguarded 700 children.
Our teams work closely with Stop It Now! UK and Ireland who work to ensure children are as safe as they can be.
The Foundation was set up after the death of Lucy Faithfull who’s name was included in the charity to honour the hard work done to protect children all across the country. Lucy was a firm believer that the only way to prevent these crimes against children we needed to work with offenders. Last year more than 18,000 people across the North West contacted the stop it now helpline with concerns about sexual thoughts or behaviour towards children.
